Some things I found in the loft

In 1986 when I returned to London, after a two year spell in Birmingham, I threw most of my work away, or so I thought. 36 years later I discover in my Mums loft a whole lot of work I thought was lost. Some of it will remain lost but some I am happy to look at again.

As part of the on-going project Butterfly, where i make an exhibition proposition in my studio for a very limited time, in this case around 2 hours. The work on show comes from a series of works made around 1981. I graduated in 1978 so the work here was made around 3 years after leaving Goldsmiths School.of Art.

Looking back is not something I do very much. But this experience has been really revealing and it has forced me to rethink my own history, which I have been for some time misremembering.
